  3. What you need:

  5. Win95/98/NT/2000
  6. 8mb installed RAM
  7. Pentium Class Processor

  9. Note to Previous Users:

  11. We recommend that you uninstall previous versions
  12. before installing DragStrip 3.71
  13.  
  14. How to Register DragStrip:
  15.  
  16. If you purchased DragStrip on CD, your serial number 
  17. and authorization code can be found on the back of 
  18. the CD jewel case. Use the following steps to register 
  19. your software:
  20.  
  21. 1. Launch the DragStrip application and click the 
  22. downwards facing triangle to open the DragStrip menu. 
  23. 2. Choose "About DragStrip". 
  24. 3. Click the "Enter Code" button. 
  25. 4. Enter the Serial Number and Authorization Code in 
  26. the appropriate fields. These numbers can be found on 
  27. the back of your CD jewel case. 
  28. 5. Click the "O.K." button.

  30. If you purchased your software from Aladdin's online 
  31. store your email will be sent to you in a confirmation 
  32. email. Once you have received the email, use the following 
  33. steps to register your software:
  34.  
  35. 1. Launch the DragStrip application and click the 
  36. downwards facing triangle to open the DragStrip menu. 
  37. 2. Choose "About DragStrip". 
  38. 3. Click the "Enter Code" button. 
  39. 4. Enter the Serial Number and Authorization Code in 
  40. the appropriate fields. These numbers can be found in 
  41. your confirmation email. 
  42. 5. Click the "O.K." button.

  44. If you downloaded DragStrip from Aladdin's web page 
  45. to evaluate the software prior to purchase, you must 
  46. first buy a registration number before you register 
  47. the software. To purchase a registration number via 
  48. Aladdin's online store, please go to the following page:

  52. Once you have obtained your serial number and authorization 
  53. code use the following steps to register your software:

  55. 1. Launch the DragStrip application and click the 
  56. downwards facing triangle to open the DragStrip menu. 
  57. 2. Choose "About DragStrip". 
  58. 3. Click the "Enter Code" button. 
  59. 4. Enter the Serial Number and Authorization Code 
  60. in the appropriate fields. 
  61. 5. Click the "O.K." button.

  63. Known Issues:
  64. Adding a shortcut to a floppy drive (a:\ or b:\) 
  65. when the drive isn't there can lead to very long 
  66. delays when dragging over that item.  If you don't 
  67. have the drive installed, these delays can be 45 
  68. seconds to a minute while the OS tries to 
  69. communicate with the drive and it will look like 
  70. the system has hung.  If you have a system where 
  71. you can remove the floppy  drive (like a laptop 
  72. system), we recommend that you do not create a 
  73. button that is a link to something on a floppy 
  74. disk or the drive itself.

  76. While DragStrip will run on any version of Windows
  77. 95, it is recommended that you use a version that 
  78. includes the shell enhancements provided by Internet 
  79. Explorer 4.0. In particular, if you are using an older 
  80. installation of Windows 95, the New Strip Wizard is 
  81. not launched when you pick "New" from the File menu 
  82. in the DragStrip menu. Instead of launching the 
  83. New Strip Wizard, DragStrip will instead create a 
  84. new strip using the default style. You can modify
  85. the performance and behavior of your strip using the 
  86. Strip Properties Dialog. See the Users Guide for 
  87. more details.

  89. When browsing folders and disks from a Strip, DragStrip will
  90. only dislplay the first 500 items.
  91.  
  92. If you are running DragStrip on Windows NT, and DragStrip 
  93. was installed by another user, the information about strip 
  94. styles that DragStrip stores in the registry will not be
  95. available. To add DragStrip's default style data to the registry
  96. double click the styles.reg file in the DragStrip folder.
